About Us
Built around shared problems, not product pitches.
ChUG, the Chicago User Group, exists to connect people who are working through similar technical and operational problems and would benefit from comparing notes.
We host talks, working sessions, demos, and community events that stay practical. The goal is to create a place where engineers, operators, founders, and technical leaders can share what they are learning without turning the meetup into a sales channel.
We are Chicago-based, but the format is intentionally hybrid. Some people will be in the room, some will join remotely, and the conversation should still be useful to both.
Commercial product pitches will be mocked mercilessly and eviscerated by our cantankerous Russian friend based on his availability. Open source work, real implementation details, and honest walkthroughs of what worked or failed are welcome.
